  • Charge your battery.

It may seem like the simplest thing to do when preparing for a photo session, but you would be surprised at the number of photographers who have forgotten to charge their camera battery or accidentally left their camera on over night. They arrived at the session with a camera that would not turn on and left with some very upset clients. Don’t let this be you!
  • Make a checklist.

It may be a good idea to develop a checklist of equipment you will need for your photo session. I have developed a free and downloadable checklist for you to print off. To access it, click here.
  • Check your SD/Memory Card.

Be sure to check your SD/Memory card before the scheduled photo session. There should be sufficient space to capture new photos during the session. If you do not take the time to ensure this, you may end up having to delete photos in order to create space for more- no one wants to be stuck in this position in the middle of a session.
  • Do your research!

You will feel a lot more confident during the session if you have developed an idea prior to the session of what kind of photos you want to capture. Saving some ideas of poses on your phone to show clients during the session can also make the session easier.
